NCDOT, U-5739 & U-5716 US 258 at NC 24 Interchange, Road Widening Cost Estimates
Onslow County, NC
These two projects connect at the interchange area of US 2598 and NC 24. US 258 will be constructed to a a six-lane facility for 2 miles up to the new interchange at NC 24. The new interchange and widening along US 258 will increase traffic flow in this area. Each project impacts approximately 90 parcels with residential and business relocatees. Several displacees are popular chain businesses.
James provided a cost analysis on acquiring easements and right of way, billboards and sign relocations and residential/business relocations. Our estimate will help the client determine overall construction costs for each project. James visited the project sites and determined fair market value for each impacted parcel. This value was used to complete the overall project ROW cost for both projects.
York County, Steele Creek Pump Station
York County, SC
The pump station will serve as the County's largest regional pump station that will convey all flow generated in their eastern collection system to the City of Rock Hill's Manchester Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). HDR was hired to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report, perform final design, obtain permits, acquire necessary property right and provide construction administration and inspection services.
James has providing acquisition of easements for parcels to provide utility access to the new facility. The property owners included the local school district and two development companies. HDR has worked closely with the County's Engineering Department through this process. James completed the easement acquisition for this project.
The Lane Construction Corporation, I-3802B Design-Build
Rowan County, NC
This project will widen 5.9 miles of I-85 to an eight-lane facility, reconstruct the existing travel lanes, replace multiple bridges and modify interchanges as designated in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties. James is currently teamed with The Lane Construction Corporation on this Design-Build project. James was managing all ROW services and providing some right of way acquisition. James completed assigned right of way acquisition on this project. The ROW acquisition is almost complete and has been ahead of schedule.
North Carolina Dept of Transportation, R-5021 NC 211
Brunswick County, NC
This road widening project along NC 211 consisted of two sections with a total of 168 impacted parcels and 18 relocations. CLA is managing the appraisal and title contracts for this project. James is a subconsultant to CLA and providing acquisition and relocation services on 37 parcels on this project. The project was put on hold with approximately 4 parcels to complete. James will complete the acquisition on those parcels once the utility redesign is complete. James assigned work is complete to date.
